Allan is currently a PhD candidate in Science and Religion at the University of Edinburgh, with a thesis focusing on the intuitive interconnectedness of reality revealed by convergent holistic theories in Quantum metaphysics and Buddhist philosophy.  

Originally trained as a historian, Allan obtained a BA in general European History and an MPhil in medieval history – both from the Université de Nantes – with the latter engaging the representation of a universal imperial ideology in the Norman kingdoms of the late Middle Ages.

This particular emphasis on symbolical representation of universals and ensuing issues of cosmological order nurtured in him a profound desire to fathom a range of fundamental and otherworldly questionings on reality, the nature of consciousness, and the relationality between human beings and the universe. As these innovative interdisciplinary perspectives are still considerably lacking in French universities, he turned towards the UK and found the MSc in Science and Religion from Edinburgh, which opened the door to countless possibilities for intermingling Science, History, Philosophy, and Spirituality. Thereupon he pursued with the doctoral programme.  

Aside, Allan is also deeply interested in contemporary practices of embodied spirituality originating in Asian religions – such as modern Yoga and meditation – which he practices regularly. He believes that a more fruitful, engaging, and respectful way of living will come through holistic models and theories of behaviour, coupled with an ever-increasing attention to education, notably in teachings the ways of Science, Religion, and Philosophy for societal growth.
