Josh Barber is one of our Academic Research Volunteers. Professionally, Josh works as a consultant lawyer, specialising in film, television and copyright, but his outside interests extend well beyond this.
His original degree from Oxford University was in Modern History but, as well as having postgraduate qualifications in Law, including from King’s College, London, last year Josh completed an MA in Buddhist Studies at the University of South Wales (writing his dissertation on Emptiness) and then started an MSc in Philosophy, Science and Religion at the University of Edinburgh.
Josh is affiliated with Samye Ling, and is a Mahamudra student of HE Tai Situ Rinpoche, but he has an eclectic interest in a broad range of Buddhist traditions as well as spiritual and mystical traditions outside of Buddhism. Josh is also currently producing a feature length documentary film on the subject of rebirth with the team that made Akong: A Remarkable Life.
