You do not need to have previous knowledge of, or experience with, the themes of our online courses. As part of our package, we provide tailored preliminary readings and additional learning material for anyone who is completely new to the Buddhist or scientific elements of each course. However, if you already have some expertise in either area, you will find that our courses offer a fresh, new perspective and provide you with a deeper understanding of the intersection of Buddhism and science.
Absolutely! Anyone can take our courses, and there is no background knowledge necessary. However, if you are a complete beginner, we do advise that you make effective use of the preliminary reading materials that we provide with each course, which will help you get the most out of your learning experience.
Our courses involve no final exam, although there are quizzes after each module with which you can test your own knowledge and understanding of the materials covered. Also, at the end of each course, you will be able to download a completion certificate.
Our online courses focus on the intersection of science and Buddhism. We define ‘science’ in the broadest sense of the word, which also includes the social sciences and the humanities. In our courses, you will not only learn about science or Buddhism, but also about how the two come together, what are the common points, and where they may diverge in their understanding. All our teachers are qualified to teach either one or both subjects, and many are scientists with a contemplative practice and/or interest.
Each online course features teachers who are leaders in their respective fields in science and/or Buddhism, are well-known contemplatives and/or qualified academics. In this way, we ensure that our content is not biased, and all information is brought to you in the most objective way possible. Our teachers in Buddhism are recognised via official Buddhist lineages and schools and are officially qualified and empowered to teach the subjects covered in our courses. Unfortunately, we cannot provide contact details of our teachers, although we can forward your query to them (leaving them the option to reply to you or not).
Yes, after completion of one of our online courses you will be able to download a certificate via our LearnDash environment. This certificate is not recognised by any university affiliation, and simply acknowledges your effort in completing the course.
All our courses are self-paced. This means that how long you take to complete them is up to you and the time you have available! Some finish the course in a few weeks, while others will take months or even a year to finish it. But don’t worry, although your subscription is for one year only, you will get the option to renew your subscription at the end of it.
Absolutely! You can pace this course and adapt it to the time you have available. There is no time limit or pressure to complete this course: although your subscription is for one year only after the day of enrollment, you will have the option to renew before that year is over.
No, although your subscription to each online course is for one year only after the day of enrollment, you will get the option to renew your subscription at the end of it, so there is no time limit.
Yes, you will still have access to the materials of the course while you are subscribed to the course, even if you have finished the course and received your certificate. Our online courses are unique in their content and focus and can benefit anyone who is interested in the intersection of Buddhism and science, or any one of the fields covered in our courses. We also provide many guided practices and short and long meditations, which provide you with new tools to start or develop your personal contemplative practice and will give you an idea of the benefits of combining studying with mindfulness.

For the latter, please reach out to us per email via: hello@sciwizlive.com
